Built by people who were doing this in a spreadsheet
Prism exists because the tools for this either assume everything you own is a rental, or assume you are an accounting firm. Neither is true of an owner with eleven doors, a retail strip and the LLC that manages both.
The problem was never the bookkeeping
Recording a transaction is easy. Knowing, in March, what a building actually earned last year — after the refinance, after the roof, after the months it sat empty — is not. That answer lives across a bank feed, a loan schedule, a category tree and an ownership split, and most tools own one of those four.
So the work goes into a spreadsheet, and the spreadsheet is correct right up until the moment somebody refinances, or a partner's share changes, or a single landscaping invoice covers three properties. Then it is quietly wrong, and nothing tells you.
Three asset classes, one set of books
Most portfolios at this size are not one thing. They are some doors, maybe a commercial building, and an operating entity that ties them together — and the software market treats those as three different products for three different customers. Holding them apart means reconciling them by hand, which is exactly the work nobody has time for.
Prism makes all three first-class. A residential property gets beds and baths; a commercial building gets NNN, CAM and occupancy; a business gets an EIN, an industry and a founding date. Underneath they share one engine — bank sync, categorization, documents, ownership, and the same performance suite — so the roll-up is a fact rather than a spreadsheet formula.
What we will not do
We do not sell your data, and we do not intend to build a business that would want to. The revenue is subscriptions, which is the whole reason the incentives point the right way. The privacy and security page says exactly what is stored, what is encrypted, who can see it, and — in a section written to stay uncomfortable — what we have not built yet.
We also try not to ship a number we cannot trace. Every metric on the performance screen comes from a transaction you recorded or a loan term you entered. There is no figure on this site that the product does not compute.
Where it is going
An iOS app is in development. The rest of the roadmap comes from the same place this page did: people telling us which part of the month still takes too long. The contact page is the shortest route into that list.
